Mazar-e-Sharif a part from being a historic city, host of the Shrine of Hazrat Ali also is very famous for it's vast population of Pigeons. The local belief was and still is that if the feeder is attracted by vast number of Pigeons is not a sinner, if by very Pigeon is less sinner, if no Pigeon come near him or her, that person a big sinner. I attracted a lot of Pigeons. They ate all of what I bought for them:)
A Farewell Party for UN Colleagues and friends who served in and for Afghanistan for years. I am honored to have known them these fine ladies and gentlemen and worked together for a short period of time. It was sad to see them gone, but happy in the same time that they are opening a new chapter in their lives. Joe wished the party to be in Afghan way, at least dressed in Afghani, so everyone dressed in what they had.
